WASHINGTON -- DC braces itself for the first real snowstorm of winter, England debates deportation rules, and an update on the acid throwing connected with Russia's Bolshoi Ballet.
Host Kim Brown talks with Daniel Cinna in London and Angela Davis in Moscow:
In England, new rules are being discussed to close loopholes that supposedly keep criminals, terrorists, and rapists from being deported. The convicted people often claim that if they return to their home country they will be tortured, or that they have family in Britain-- all reasons upheld by the UN. Britain would have to leave the UN to close these loopholes.
In America, Daylight Savings Time is only a week away, but 3-7 inches of snow is expected to fall on Washington, DC over the next two days. Chicago is expected to get as much as 10 inches.
In Russia, the ballet drama continues after Bolshoi Ballet director Sergei Filin was disfigured by an acid attack. The police have detained a possible suspect for the attack, who they think was hired by another person to assault the ballet director.
