WASHINGTON – With more and more young women suffering from self-image problems or from eating disorders, Israel has decided to do something about it and they are putting the fashion industry on notice.

Today, models in Israel in order to work must produce a doctor’s certificate that shows they have a BMI higher than 18.5. Israel is the first nation to incorporate such a law.

Andrew Hiller spoke with Lynda Erkiletian, president of THE Artist Agency, about the law and whether other nations might or should follow suit.
