WASHINGTON – The recent surging of the U.S. stock markets and the Dow Jones Industrial Average has come at what seems to some as a strange time. Between talk of poor economic growth and the threat of a government shutdown, the recent numbers have managed to shine through the economic chaos.

Host Andrew Hiller spoke with Scheherazade Rehman, a professor of international finance and business at George Washington University, to discuss the market numbers and what they mean in this time of uncertainty.
